HUNAGI képviselet a GISIG idei közgyűlésén.

HUNAGI mintegy 15 éve tagja a GISIG szervezetnek. Az idei közgyűlésük időpontja, melyet egyidejűleg tartanak a szervezet székhelyén Genovában és a belgiumi KU Leuven campusában, nemzeti ünnepünkre, október 23-ára esik. A közgyűlésen a HUNAGI szavazat leadásra ismét Milva Carbonaro, a GISIG munkatársa kapott felhatalmazást. A GISIG elnöke Giorgio Saio arról biztosított, hogy a közgyűlésről és a GISIG tevékenységéről a HUNAGI tagsága informálása céljából minden lényeges információt meg fog kapni.
GISIG az egyik legsikeresebb résztvevője az elmúlt 20 évben az európai pályázatoknak. Példás hálózatot épített ki Európa-szerte, számos hazai műhely bevonásával.

A Nemzetközi Térinformatikai Társaság (IGS) idei kérdőívére adott válaszok közzététele

Az IGS felmérés értékelésének eredményét Roger Longhon, a GSDI kommunikációs igazgatója adta közre. Az anyagot 2013. november 3-án az IGS közgyűlésén tárgyalják meg Addis Ababában és a válaszok nagymértékben kijelölik a szervezet következő évekbeni tevékenységét, szerepét. Mint ismeretes, az IGS a GSDI világszervezet egyéni tagokat tömörítő leányszervezete, alapítói között hazai szakemberek is vannak.

HUNAGI tisztségviselő előadásmeghívása a londoni GDI 2014 konferenciára

A Geospatial Defense Intelligence konferenciára 2014 januárjában kerül sor Londonban. A konferencia  egyik szakmai szervezőjének meghívására a HUNAGI főtitkára előadást tart Hogan, Patrick, Brovelli, Maria és De Amicis, Raffaele szerzőtársakkal a NASA World Wind első európai, diákok és kisvállalkozások számára kiírt versenyéről.

ECAI Maritime Buddhism Workshop, August 27-29th, 2013

Adan Archive Project

The organizational planning group met at Sogang University campus in Seoul to set the goals and strategies for digitizing 25,000 volumes of rare books held in the Adan

Professor Wayne de Fremery is leading the project and will host an ECAI/Adan workshop December 5-7 in Korea

Atlas of Korean Literature

In the planning phase, the Atlas of Korean Literature will provide geo-registration as one approach to the data relating to authors, publishers, and editors of literary works.  The effort is being led by Professor Kwon Yong-min of Seoul National University and Professor Wayne de Fremery of  Sogang University.

ECAI Collaboration Agreement

An agreement has been signed between the School of Information at U.C. Berkeley and   Nan Tien Institute in Australia to provide support for the ECAI Atlas of Maritime Buddhism. Louisa Lam is representing Nan Tien, is serving as the coordinator for the workshops, travel, and planning of the Atlas.

Dr Shoichiro HARA, Vice-Director, Center for Integrated Area Studies, Kyoto University: Information Infrastructures for Area Studies, and Prof. Tatsuki SEKINO, Research Institute for Humanity and Nature, Kyoto, Japan, visited ECAI on June 10. They presented their research on ‘Information Infrastructures for Area Studies’ and on ‘Time information system and basic temporal information’ respectively.
 Prof. Peng Zuo, Shanghai University of Finance and Economics, is currently a visiting scholar working on a database of Tang dynasty poetry.

Dear colleague,

Geoscientists have a fundamental role in our societies.
They can promote a culture sensitive to the environment, correct information on natural risks, a more constructive relationship among the scientific community, mass media, population and policy-makers.

During the 34th International Geological Congress (IGC) held last August in Brisbane (Australia), I and other geoscientists decided to found the International Association for Promoting Geoethics (IAPG): our website at http://www.iapg.geoethics.org.

The IAPG is an international, multidisciplinary, scientific platform for widening the debate on problems of Ethics applied to the geosciences. The IAPG aims to promote Geoethics values and principles through international cooperation, encouraging the involvement and debate of scientists all over the world.

The achievement of the IAPG objectives will lead above all to the involvement of the community in the idea of a common and shared "geo-heritage", to be considered as a cultural, educational and scientific value, as well as a social capital; to a cultural renewal in the way we perceive and relate to our Planet; to the sensitization towards the defense of life and the richness of the Earth, in all its forms.
