ECAI is pleased to announce our Winter 2008 bi-annual meetings to be held
in Ha Noi, Vietnam, December 4-6, 2008. These meetings will be held in
conjunction with the Pacific Neighborhood Consortium (PNC) and a
Japan-Vietnam Geoinformatics Consortium (JVGC).

ECAI is coordinating sessions on the following topics and we invite your
submission of papers on:
*Cultural Atlases
*Inscriptions
*Remote Sensing and Historical Mapping
*Representation of Context
*Cities

Additionally, submissions for both sessions and papers can be made to ECAI
and PNC on the following:
*Digital Archives
*Digital Collections
*Digital Libraries
*e-Learning
*e-Museum
*e-Publishing
*e-Resource
*e-Science
*Gazetteers
*GIS
*Humanities GIS
*Intellectual Property Right
*Metadata



About the Program
The program for the 2008 Annual Conference and Joint Meetings will include
approximately 20-22 concurrent sessions. Each session will last 100
minutes and could have 3-4 speakers. Formats for sessions will be panel,
presentation, small group or a combination. Session coordinators are
responsible for determining the format.


Session Submission
Session/ panel proposals should include 3-4 papers, and the name of a
chair, discussant,
and contact person. Please submit ECAI proposals directly to Dashielle
Vawter – DashielleDV@berkeley.edu. The deadline for submitting session
proposals is 1 July, 2008.

Paper Submission
Abstracts for individual papers and poster/demo presentations should be
250-300 words. We will be accepting these submissions throughout the
summer.

Venue and Dates
The conference will be held December 4 - 6 at the La Thanh Hotel, Ha Noi.
ECAI business meetings will be held with date TBD.
More information about this venue and ECAI meetings will soon be available.

Hotel, Airport Pick-up and Tours
Conference participants can arrange hotel booking, airport pick up, tour
arrangement through Official Travel Desk. Contact information, a
reservation form and directions for working with Official Travel Desk can

Registration
Registration is required for this conference. For cost and information on
registering, see the conference web site.

Visa
Travel to Vietnam from many countries requires an entry visa. Please
contact your Vietnam consulate to determine requirements.
